Former child actress Kianna Underwood, best known for her work on Nickelodeon’s All That, has died after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident in Brooklyn. She was 33.
The fatal crash occurred early Friday morning, January 16, in the Brownsville neighborhood. Underwood was crossing the intersection of Watkins Street and Pitkin Avenue at approximately 6:50 a.m. when she was hit by a black Ford SUV. The driver did not stop and continued driving for nearly a block with Underwood trapped underneath the vehicle, according to surveillance footage reviewed by authorities.
Her body was later found at the intersection of Osborn Street and Pitkin Avenue. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are continuing to search for the driver and vehicle involved.
Underwood rose to prominence as a child performer, appearing on the popular Nickelodeon sketch comedy series All That during the early 2000s alongside future Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson. She also lent her voice to the character Fuschia Glover on the animated series Little Bill, appearing in more than 20 episodes over several seasons.
Her acting career extended beyond children’s television. Underwood appeared in films including The 24 Hour Woman, sharing the screen with Rosie Perez, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and Patti LuPone, and had a supporting role in the satirical comedy Death of a Dynasty, which featured Kevin Hart. In addition to her screen work, she performed on stage as Little Inez during the first national tour of the Broadway musical Hairspray.
Born in New York City, Underwood later relocated to Los Angeles to continue her acting career. Friends and fans have begun sharing tributes online, remembering her talent, warmth, and early contributions to television and theater.
Police are urging anyone with information about the hit-and-run to come forward as the investigation continues.
