Bleach's New Anime Finally Explains One Captain's Bankai

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War episode 10 has been released, and with its release, Unohana's Bankai has finally been explained.

Following the first invasion of the Wandenreich, Unohana, revealed to be the first Kenpachi and one of Soul Society’s deadliest warrior.

He is tasked with training Kenpachi in preparation for the Quincies’ return.

In order to accomplish that, the two engage in a fight to the death where Unohana continually kills and revives Kenpachi.

With each iteration of the cycle allowing Kenpachi to gradually release the limits he subconsciously placed upon himself.

As Kenpachi’s power grew to the point that he could hurt Unohana, Unohana upped the scale of the fight by activating her Bankai, Minazuki.

When Unohana used her Bankai in Tite Kubo's Bleach, there wasn’t a lot of focus drawn to it, and with her dying soon after its activation, it was left unclear what its abilities were supposed to be.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War episode 10, however, expanded on the fight enough to finally explain what her Bankai does, and it does a lot to establish just how powerful Unohana was supposed to be.
