An Oklahoma teenager has been arrested and charged with murder after allegedly stabbing his older brother to death during an argument that occurred while the two were playing video games, police said.
William Spencer, 19, was taken into custody Sunday evening in Del City after officers responded to a reported domestic stabbing just before 8:30 p.m., according to the Oklahoma City Police Department.
When officers arrived at the residence, they found Nicholas Spencer, 25, suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators said the two brothers were playing a video game when an argument broke out. Police allege William Spencer became angry during the dispute and stabbed his brother.
William Spencer was arrested at the scene without incident. Police said he remained at the residence after the stabbing and was later interviewed by investigators before being booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a first-degree murder complaint.
Authorities described the incident as a tragic family dispute that escalated rapidly. Police said the suspect admitted to the stabbing during questioning.
It remains unclear what video game the brothers were playing at the time of the incident or whether other family members were present in the home.
William Spencer is being held in the Oklahoma County Jail on a $10 million bond. His next court date has not yet been scheduled.
